Our Story

Every pair of Heirloom Field boots is an invitation to slow down, to invest in something real, to become part of a legacy of intentional living. Whether you're drawn to our ready-made collection or seeking something entirely your own, we're here to help you find the boots that will carry you forward.

Fit & Care

Finding Your Perfect Fit

The right boot should feel like an extension of yourself—not a compromise, not a promise of future comfort, but an immediate sense of belonging. We've designed three silhouettes to honor different proportions and preferences, each crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail.

The Tall

Our signature 16-inch shaft rises to just below the knee, creating an elegant line that elongates the leg. This height is ideal if you prefer a boot that makes a statement, that anchors an outfit with presence. The Tall works beautifully with everything from tailored trousers to flowing skirts. If you're between 5'6" and 6'2", this silhouette will likely feel proportionate to your frame. The shaft's generous height also provides excellent support for all-day wear, cradling the calf with the kind of security that comes from thoughtful engineering.

The Midi

At 12 inches, The Midi strikes a conversation between practicality and elegance. It's the boot for those who want presence without drama, sophistication without sacrifice. This height works across a wider range of proportions—from petite frames to taller builds—because it sits at that perfect point where it feels intentional rather than accidental. The Midi pairs effortlessly with everything in your wardrobe, from jeans to dresses, making it the boot you'll reach for most often.

The Shorty

Our 9-inch bootie is for the minimalist, the one who understands that sometimes less is everything. Perfect for those under 5'4" or anyone who prefers a more streamlined silhouette, The Shorty offers all the craftsmanship of our taller styles in a more compact form. Don't mistake its height for delicacy—this boot is built to last just as long, to age just as beautifully, to become just as essential to your life.

How to Measure for Your Size

We recommend measuring your foot in the afternoon or evening, when your feet are at their largest. Stand on a piece of paper and trace the outline of your foot, measuring from heel to toe. Compare this measurement to our size chart. Remember that boot sizing differs from shoe sizing—our boots are designed with a slightly roomier toe box to accommodate the natural expansion of your foot throughout the day and across seasons.

If you fall between sizes, we suggest sizing up. A boot that's too tight will never break in properly; a boot with a quarter-inch of extra room will mold to your foot and become more comfortable with each wearing. This is the beauty of quality leather—it remembers you.

Width Considerations

Our standard width accommodates most feet beautifully. If you have a wider foot, we recommend sizing up a half size rather than seeking a wider width—the extra length provides the room you need without compromising the boot's proportions. For narrower feet, our leather will still mold to your foot, but you may want to invest in quality insoles for the first few weeks of wear.

The Art of Care

Your Heirloom Field boots are an investment in a future you can't yet imagine. The care you give them now determines the legacy they'll become.

Daily Wear

After each wearing, use a soft brush or cloth to remove dust and debris. This simple act—taking thirty seconds to care for your boots—is the foundation of their longevity. Pay special attention to the seams and welts, where dirt can accumulate. This isn't obsessive; it's respectful.

Leather Conditioning

Every three to six months, depending on climate and wear, condition your boots with a quality leather conditioner. We recommend products made with natural oils rather than silicones. Apply the conditioner with a soft cloth, working it into the leather in circular motions. This nourishes the hide, keeping it supple and preventing the cracking that comes from neglect. You'll notice the leather deepening in color, developing character—this is the patina forming, the visual record of your life in these boots.

Water and Salt

If your boots get wet, stuff them loosely with newspaper and allow them to dry at room temperature, away from direct heat. Change the newspaper every few hours. Never place boots near a radiator or in direct sunlight—heat damages leather irreparably. If salt stains appear (common in winter climates), wipe them away with a cloth dampened in equal parts white vinegar and water, then condition the leather immediately after.

Storage

Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use boot shapers or stuff them with acid-free tissue paper to help them maintain their shape during off-season months. A cloth dust bag protects them from dust without trapping moisture. Never store boots in plastic—leather needs to breathe.

Resoling and Repair

One of the greatest gifts we've given you is the Goodyear welt construction. This means your boots can be resoled, renewed, restored. When the sole begins to show significant wear—usually after several years of regular wear—take your boots to a quality cobbler. A new sole will give your boots another lifetime. This is not an end; it's a beginning.

Scuffs and Imperfections

Leather is a living material. Scuffs, creases, and marks are not flaws—they're evidence of a life well-lived. They add character, authenticity, soul. If a scuff bothers you, a leather cream in a matching shade can minimize its appearance, but we encourage you to embrace these marks as part of your boot's story.

A Final Word

These boots are built to outlive trends, to become more beautiful with age, to carry you through decades of mornings and adventures. The care you give them is an act of intention, a commitment to quality that extends far beyond fashion. Treat them as the heirlooms they are, and they will reward you with a loyalty that's increasingly rare in this world.

Meet Samantha

Samantha is the keeper of our craft. As head of production and materials sourcing, she understands that a boot is only as good as the leather it's made from, the sole it stands on, the thread that holds it together.

Her expertise spans continents—she's spent years cultivating relationships with tanneries and suppliers who share our uncompromising standards. She knows leather the way a sommelier knows wine: the subtle differences in weight and character, how climate and care affect aging, which hides will develop the most beautiful patina over time.

Samantha brings a meticulous eye to every production decision. She's the voice that says "no" when something isn't quite right, the hands that inspect every pair before it leaves our atelier. Her vision ensures that Heirloom Field boots don't just meet expectations—they exceed them, year after year, mile after mile.

Meet Elle

Elle's hands have shaped every boot that bears the Heirloom Field name. With over two decades of bootmaking experience, she arrived in West Texas with a singular vision: to create boots that honor the past while refusing to be bound by it.

Her journey began in a small atelier in the Hill Country, where she apprenticed under master craftspeople who taught her that true luxury lives in the details—the way leather breaks in, the precision of a hand-stitched welt, the integrity of a sole that will carry you through a lifetime of stories.

Elle's design philosophy is rooted in restraint. She believes that the most beautiful things are often the simplest, that a boot should feel like a second skin, that the craftsmanship should be so refined it becomes invisible. At Heirloom Field, she leads our atelier with an unwavering commitment to quality that borders on obsession—because she knows that the boots we make today will be passed down tomorrow.

The Heirloom Standard

We believe boots should outlive their makers. In a world of disposable everything, Heirloom Field stands as a quiet rebellion—a commitment to the kind of craftsmanship that whispers rather than shouts, that proves itself through decades of wear.

Every pair we create is built on a simple philosophy: intentionality over trends, durability over decoration, legacy over convenience. We marry the uncompromising standards of Western bootmaking tradition with the refined sensibilities of modern design. The result is something rare—boots that feel like they've always belonged to you, yet were made with meticulous care for a future you can't yet imagine.

This is not fast fashion. This is not a trend. This is the marriage of heritage and craft, where each stitch, each sole, each carefully selected leather tells a story of respect for the person who will wear these boots for years to come.
