Samantha Lischka
Samantha has always been drawn to beauty. not excess or trend, but beauty shaped by restraint, intention, and meaning.
Born in Pensacola, Florida, Samantha’s early life was marked by transition. At the age of 7, she flew alone on a one way flight to Texas. She met her forever family at 8 and was officially adopted at age 9. Her childhood shaped her resilience, gratitude, and deep appreciation for the life she was given. She often reflects on her story as one of beauty from ashes.
Texas became home. It is where Samantha’s sense of belonging, faith, and identity took root. Today, she is married to her high school sweetheart, Jacoby, and together they are raising their three sons, Cross Aiden, Rush Jayden, and Armor Jett, in small town Texas. This life has anchored her belief in slow living, stewardship, and the quiet power of creating with care.
Samantha is an alumna of Texas A&M University and Zeta Tau Alpha. In 2012, she founded Modern Burlap, an intentional lifestyle brand built on faith, family, and thoughtful design. What began as a deeply personal creative outlet grew into a globally recognized brand, represented in more than 900 retailers worldwide, including Nordstrom and Magnolia Market.
Through Modern Burlap, Samantha has spent over a decade designing products for baby, child, family, and home that honor story, purpose, and craftsmanship. That work has earned recognition beyond the marketplace. Her products have been featured in numerous magazines and publications. In 2018, she was named one of Texas A&M’s 12 Under 12 Young Alumni, an award honoring former students who exemplify excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, and service.
Her continuous desire to create the items she wish existed led to this passion project with Elle.
Samantha has always loved creating. Writing, designing, curating, and collecting with intention. She is drawn to architecture, European design, independent makers, and one of a kind goods that carry history and soul. Quality over quantity is not a preference, but a discipline.
Heirloom Field reflects this philosophy. Every design is edited. Every detail is considered. Only favorites are shared. The goal is not more, but better. Boots that feel timeless, personal, and worthy of being kept.
At its heart, Heirloom Field is about stewardship. Of beauty. Of story. Of the gifts we are given and the things we choose to make. Samantha designs with gratitude, faith, and a belief that beauty, when handled with restraint, can point toward something greater.
