The Metallic Archive: Calfskin

Premium calfskin with metallic finish. Gold or silver.

The leather is Italian-sourced, selected for fine grain and uniform texture. The metallic application is applied during the finishing process, creating a soft, reflective surface that maintains the natural suppleness of calfskin.

Unlike coated leathers, this finish allows the material to breathe and age naturally.

The Material

Full-grain calfskin. Tanned in Italy. The grain is fine and consistent, providing a smooth canvas for the metallic finish.

Calfskin is softer and more pliable than exotic leathers. It molds to the foot quickly, requiring minimal break-in.

Gold vs. Silver

Gold: Warm, subtle glow. Works with earth tones, camel, cream.

Silver: Cool, modern. Pairs with black, white, gray, navy.

Both finishes develop a soft patina over time. High-wear areas will show slight darkening and natural creasing.

Construction

Goodyear welt construction. Full leather lining. Stacked leather heel.

The boot is resolable. With proper care, it will last 10+ years of regular wear.

Care

Wipe with soft, dry cloth after wear. Condition every 3-6 months with neutral leather cream. Avoid water exposure when possible.

The metallic finish is durable but not indestructible. Scratches and scuffs are part of the material's character.

This material appears in The Payton silhouette.
